streaming

made on december 20, 2025

i already talked about subscription services, but i want to expand further on my take, especially considering the state of the world right now.

i remember when there was only two streaming services: netflix and hulu plus. and that was it. as for music, people were either pirating or still buying cds and records.

i hate it when people casually stream shit and act like they can't do anything about it. they can, and you at home can do the same things i'll mention:

- buy physical media

go out there and buy physical media, like cds, dvds, vhs tapes, cassette tapes, vinyl records. whatever the hell you can find or afford, use it to your advantage. after all, it's a lot cheaper nowadays, and you have it forever. streaming services are always gonna take what you like away, and so

- use adblock

any adblock will work. i prefer ublock origin. on that note, i would recommend to stop using chrome if that's what you use. anything else will work that isn't chromium based.

- piracy

i don't think i should explain this one and how to accomplish such activities. i will, however, tell you what not to do:

= don't go to any youtube to mp3 website and copy a bunch of songs you like into there.

= don't edit the metadata to fit according to your library of legally owned music.

= don't go to any spotify downloader.

= don't torrent. (in all seriousness, they've been cracking down on this one using god knows what they can.)

= don't import your cds and upload them to other file sharing platforms.

= don't set up a plex server and import your physical media.
