twitter shitposting and its consequences inevitably fueled by the united states government alongside its many branches: a short rant

made on june 6, 2026

okay so the title is really long and whatnot but i'll try to keep it as simple as i'm able to in comparison to my other blogs.

about a few months ago, the president of americaland (or at least people on his behalf) running the white house twitter account posted a shitpost of drone strikes edited into wii sports footage. there's also more examples of them doing this kinda thing with other franchises and shit but i'm mainly doing the wii sports one because i feel personally drone striked myself. so anyways...

this infuriates me. a lot.

the government shouldn't be shitposting on twitter (hell, let alone any social media platform). it feels really childish, and it's already annoying because corporations do it all the time.

but i'm not just upset about that part. i'm more upset because they're doing it wrong. if i wanted to shitpost on twitter as the government, i would say that there's free weed in washington dc and that everyone gets a pound each. and i wouldn't use ai to make the images. i'd use a cracked copy of photoshop like a real american man would.

also, regardless of how you feel in the victims involved in these conflicts, these kind of posts really desensitize everything surrounding it. i understand people would argue "oh but edgy humor does the same thing" but i'd argue it does the opposite.

last but not least, nostalgiabait (somewhat at least on my end) coming from the us government to essentially propogandize (idek if that's a word but i'll act like it is so i can make my own language) its citizens is genuinely batshit insane.

idk. i just can't get this out of my head.
